Community Connection: A Place to Connect
An initiative in development to give people without a permanent address a reliable place to receive mail, replace documents, and connect with resources.
Program overview
We believe that helping people in need means addressing the barriers that can keep them from moving forward. We are developing a Community Connection initiative designed to provide people experiencing homelessness with a reliable place to receive mail, obtain vital documents, and connect with resources that can help them move toward stability.
Sometimes something as simple as having a reliable place to receive mail can make it easier to obtain identification, receive benefit information, communicate with employers, attend appointments, and begin the process of rebuilding stability.
One of our goals is to explore partnerships that could provide individuals without a permanent address with a secure mailing address and a trusted place to connect with community resources. NC GOD INC does not currently operate a mailing location; this initiative is being built with community partners.
We believe that no one should have to navigate these challenges alone. Through partnerships with community organizations, agencies, businesses, volunteers, and individuals, we hope to create stronger pathways from crisis to stability.
